This is one of the most intriguing and well told tales I've read in a long time (and I read a LOT!). The book is extremely well written. The plot has curves and twists that will keep you engaged while you're reading, and panting for more when you are finished.Saul's character development is quite good; you can easily get a great sense of each "cast member's" unique persona. He draws you into the world he has created immediately, and holds your attention throughout.
WELL worth the time and the meager cost!

Trespassers edition by Saul Delino Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
There are many social issues in "Trespassers" by Saul Delino. Each or all are heartbreaking when you place yourself in the character's shoes. For example, domestic abuse and drug abuse and of course, Vin's daily struggles as a user of a wheelchair. He never desires pity. There is great dialogue. There is no fear from the characters about displaying their anger. Truth telling is here. However, I could have done without the curse words. Those readers who love music there is a band. What's not here? It's real life.
This is an interesting story with good character development. Trespassers makes you think a lot about just one action causing so many issues in your life. Your past can sneak up on you!
There are many issues that come up in the book (depression, marital issues, personality issues) that relate to real life situations. I did find the characters a bit hard to follow at times.
The ending plot twist definitely surprised me and made the book one to remember.
*Thank you to the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This is an interesting story about how one action can cause so many problems in a man's life. Although the story was well written, I fest the story lacking in feeling. It seemed to be a story of an very unhappy man who just couldn't pull himself out of his depression. I hope there will be a sequal to this book where the little glimmer of hope revealed at the end of the story is expanded upon and Vincent and Grace can have the life they might have had if Vincent had made better choices. Trespassers is a suspense novel about an architect turned celebrity speaker who is being haunted by the traumatic events of his past. He suffers from both agoraphobia and has a disability that keeps him wheelchair-bound. Saul Delino crafts a twisting narrative through a cast of different characters.Trespassers left me feeling a lot of emotions, the most prominent being confusion. Delino’s writing style changes drastically throughout the novel. There are some sections, especially of internal monologue and description, where the prose is clear and easy to follow. The vast majority of the writing is meandering and touches on everything but the main point it is trying to make.
The inconsistencies follow the main characters of Trespassers as well. They suffer sudden personality changes that seem to happen purely to add tension to the plot. The only character that sticks to one personality is the villain. I spent a vast amount of reading time keeping track of the sudden character changes.
Despite these issues, I did enjoy the overall plot. It’s rife with twists and turns that kept me entertained. It also touches on sensitive topics such as divorce, sexual abuse, and disability. The final plot twist is one that I did not see coming at all. Delino succeeds in weaving enough surprises into the plot to keep me engaged dislike my problems with his writing style and characters.
Taking everything discussed above into account, I have to give Trespassers 2.5 / 5 stars. I found the plot interesting, but not interesting enough to read the entire novel again.
First off a disclaimer I got this book from readingdeals.com as a review copy.
This is a weird book. There are scenes that are brilliantly written. Were you to happen in on one of them, you’d think you’d discovered a great book. But as a whole, the book is frustratingly inconsistent and even incomplete. For instance, I was left uncertain of location for much of the book. At times I thought it must be London (which I’m fairly certain is the case new) but at other times I thought maybe the setting were some Caribbean location. While aspects like that are omitted, others like one character’s agoraphobia are fixated upon. Some aspects of the story just don’t read as true to me. (Someone whose written a book about architecture getting treatment as though he were the next Stephen King. Really?) Finally, everything all ties together in the end. There are no loose ends which seems a little strange.
Mostly, I found the book entertaining. It was a pretty easy book to finish though I wouldn’t call it a page turner. Though there weren’t many typos, it almost reads as a fairly early draft. Bottom line, I wouldn’t discourage you from reading this book. I just wouldn’t strongly recommend it and thus, the rating.
DISCLAIMER I received a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It took me a bit to get into this book; it's set in a culture I'm not that familiar with. But I soon got pulled in to the story of Vin and wanted to find out what happened to him. The story is good and feels very real. Just like life, there are things that happen pretty much as you expect and surprises that seem to come out of nowhere.
The characters were well-developed. Vin in particular had many facets to his personality and character. Having lived with someone confined to a wheelchair, I appreciated the descriptions of dealing with those limitations. I liked how the details of some of the past relationships didn't fully come out until the end of the book. There was good depth to, and good stories for, several of the supporting characters as well.
The only negative is that there are a few typos and grammatical errors here and there, but not enough to distract from the story. All in all, it was a very enjoyable book which kept my interest till the very end.
